FISHGUARD RNLI’s all-weather lifeboat launched at 4.15pm on Tuesday (Jul 23) after three kayakers were reported to be struggling in difficult conditions near Abereiddy.
When the lifeboat launched, with full volunteer crew, the sea conditions in Fishguard were calm with clear skies but by the time the lifeboat reached Strumble Head it entered thick sea fog and a heavy sea swell. At that time the UK Coastguard contacted the lifeboat and informed it to stand-down after the kayakers had been reported as being safe and well and ashore. The lifeboat returned to base shortly before 5pm.
