A FOOD-BANK based in Llanelli is looking for deposits of more items in order to meet what they claim is a growing demand.

We reported recently on the generous donation by Cawdor Cars of a van, which is now being used to pick up donations from collection points across Llanelli. 

A number of people have been out and about organising and collecting donated items but Llanelli councillor Rob Evans says they need more. 

Contacting ales News Online today Cllr Evans said: “Llanelli Food-bank is desperate for for food for those who rely on this service. Stocks are low. We can collect the donated food from home addresses.”

Cllr Evans listed the items needed as follows;

UHT milk

Fruit juice

Tinned fruit

Tinned vegetables

Tinned rice pudding/custard

Jam

Instant mash potato

Other items are required and are listed below;

The food-bank operates out of Myrtle House in Llanelli. Drop off points are located at the following

Cllr Amanda Fox and Penny Edwards loading donations received from Burry Port residents
Manager of Burry Port Co-op helping out today
Anglers Corner staff donated tins of fish
