SOUTH WALES Police is continuing to investigate a road traffic collision which happened shortly after12.30am on Sunday 9th June 2019 at Cardiff Street, Aberdare.
Richard Jones, 34, from Cwmbach was in collision with a Citroen car and was taken to the University Hospital of Wales.
Sadly, Mr Jones passed away peacefully the following day with his family at his bedside. They have released the following tribute.
“The partner, parents, sister and family of Richard Alun Jones, known to many as Richie J, would like to inform every one of the tragic accident that led to his death.
“We are truly devastated and this tragedy has left a huge hole in all of our lives.
“Richie lived life to the full and was a vibrant and fun person. He had so much more to give and was so excited for his future as a dad.
“It has been a great comfort to us all to receive so many caring and supportive messages from his many, many friends. “
