There have been 734 new coronavirus cases recorded in the Hywel Dda Health Board area according to the latest figures today (Monday, October 18).

The latest data shows there were 317 new cases in Carmarthenshire, 333 in Pembrokeshire and 84 in Ceredigion since the last report.

Data on a Monday is for a 48 hour period up to 9am Sunday and figures are likely to be double the usual 24 hour figure PHW state.

The total number of cases across the three counties now stands at 36,387 – 21,736 in Carmarthenshire, 9,862 in Pembrokeshire and 4,789 in Ceredigion.

There were four new Covid-related deaths recorded in the Hywel Dda area since the last report, with the total standing at 539 throughout the pandemic.

In total 6,398 new cases of coronavirus and 20 new Covid-related deaths have been reported across Wales bringing the national total to 401,644 cases and 6,035 deaths.

There have been 48,745 tests done across the country since the last report.

Across Wales 2,416,793 people have had their first dose of covid-19 vaccine and 2,235,723 have had their second dose and are fully vaccinated.

Hywel Dda University Health Board is no longer updating its vaccination reports with invitations for third ‘booster’ doses now going out to residents across the three counties in priority order.
