AN affordable home planning application was withdrawn before a decision was made this week.
Ceredigion councillors were due to discuss plans for a four bedroom affordable house on land at Abertrinant, Llanfihangel-y-Creuddyn on Wednesday, September 9.
Members of the council’s development control committee were told at the virtual meeting that the application – recommended for refusal by planning officers – had been withdrawn.
A report by planning officers indicates that a four bedroom house on greenfield agricultural land overlooking the village with a total floor area of 254 square metres would be greater than the maximum recommended for affordable homes.
It adds that average build costs would equate to around £254,000 “which is substantially higher than the average price for affordable dwellings.”
The land has been “gifted” to the applicants the report states and they want to stay in the local area close to immediate family.
Five letters of objection to the development and eight in support had also been submitted with the application.
