Aloud Charity to celebrate 10 year anniversary with new album

THIS year marks the 10 year anniversary of the Aloud Charity – the Welsh Arts Charity promoting and developing choral singing through the Only Boys Aloud, Only Kids Aloud, and Merched Aloud Girls choirs.

From receiving national acclaim by finishing third place on Britain’s Got Talent, performing in Ypres (Belgium) to mark the life of Welsh poet Hedd Wyn, to reaching over 30 million views online for Only Boys Aloud’s rendition of ‘Calon Lân’, the charity is incredibly proud of all their accomplishments.

The charity has build on that success over recent years to include work with children and girls through Only Kids Aloud and the pilot project Merched Aloud Girls, ensuring that any person in Wales who wants to sing has the chance to do so.

After ten weeks of crowdfunding, support from the public has enabled the Aloud Charity to go ahead and start recording a brand-new album in 2022 to celebrate their 10th anniversary.

With an ambitious goal of £10,000 set to make the creation of their new Aloud album possible, the charity are thrilled to announce that they have exceeded their target with an astonishing £14,410 raised through online and offline donations.

Featuring a beautiful medley of traditional Welsh songs, musical theatre tracks along with some pop hits, this CD will celebrate the captivating voices of Only Boys Aloud, Only Kids Aloud and Merched Aloud Girls’ choir. The Aloud choirs will now start preparing for their recording studio sessions which will take place later this Spring.

Along with the 10 year Anniversary concerts in July, this album is a perfect way to highlight the charity’s work over the past ten years and celebrate every choir member’s talent and enthusiasm.

Aloud’s Chief Executive, Carys Wynne-Morgan said:

“We are delighted to have reached our 10th anniversary as a charity. It’s a great testament to the hard work, commitment and passion of the staff, volunteers, singers and supporters over the last decade. It feels fitting that we celebrate this milestone with two anniversary concerts in July as well as the recording of a new album that showcases all of our choirs. Thank you to everyone who has made the last 10 years possible and I look forward to what we can achieve together over the next 10 years.”

The Aloud Charity, wishes to give a massive thank you to everyone who has supported their work over the past decade, and to all who have donated, supported and shared their album campaign posts. Without this support from the public, The Aloud Charity would not be able to provide such unique opportunities for the young people of Wales.

They hope you enjoy your prizes and rewards once the album is released, later this year.
