Ambulance staff to recount Covid-19 experience at Board meeting

WELSH Ambulance Service staff working on the frontline of the Covid-19 pandemic will recount their experience at the Trust’s next Board meeting.

Colleagues who have had the virus and overcome it will also tell their story at the virtual Board meeting next Thursday 28 January 2021, which is open to the public.

Martin Woodford, Chair of the Welsh Ambulance Service, said: “Hearing first-hand experience, whether from staff or patients, is important to us as a Board because amid all of the decision-making and policy-shaping, it keeps people at the heart of what we do.

“As coronavirus continues to tighten its grip, we’re keen to hear about the experience of colleagues in order to learn from it, not just as an organisation but as a society.”

During the pandemic, the Trust has been holding its bi-monthly Board meetings virtually, and anyone can tune in and observe.

Click here to register a place for the Zoom meeting, which starts at 9.30am, or alternatively, the meeting will be streamed live on the Trust’s Facebook page.

If you have a question for the Board as part of the Q&A session, you can email it to AMB_AskUs@wales.nhs.uk by no later than Tuesday 26 January 2021.

A full agenda will be available on the Trust’s website nearer the time.

Martin added: “Although we’ve deliberately scaled back the Board’s business this month in view of the pandemic, the agenda also includes a range of regular performance reports, as well as an Audit Wales assessment of the organisation’s governance over the last year.”
