Ammanford Recycling Ltd donate £2,000 to Glangwili Hospital

A kind donation of £2,000 has been made by a recycling company based in Ammanford.

Ammanford Recycling Ltd gave the £2,000 donation after the cash was raised by Richard Safadi, a Director of Ammanford Recycling, at the scrap yard promising that a donation would be made for every ton of scrap received.

Speaking to Wales News Online Richard Safadi said: “It doesn’t matter how much cash you have, we all need help. We are working within the community with other charities but at this time of year we felt that helping children in hospital was essential. We can all give to big charities but it is so important to give to our local causes, which work within our communities on a daily basis.

“This is not just a one off. We will be continuing to raise money throughout 2020.

“After consultation with John Roberts (finance), Sister Angharad Davies and Sandra Jones( play service manager), Cilgerran Children’s Ward, it was decided to buy a new Accuvein machine which detects veins for cannulation.”

Claire Rumble, Carmarthen Fundraising Officer for the Hywel Dda Charities said:
“Our work would not be possible without the continued generosity of our supporters. Donations help us to ensure that patients, their families, and our staff can access a wide range of specialist services above and beyond what the NHS can provide. Our work would not be possible without the continued generosity of our supporters. Thank you Ammanford Recycling Ltd.”

Ammanford Recycling look forward to providing continued support to the hospital and would like to thank all the staff for their hard work throughout the year. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all patients, families and staff.

Thank you to all NHS staff for providing such an amazing service throughout the year and for the sacrifices they make to keep our families safe this Christmas.
