PLANS to replace a former school site in Llandysul with 12 homes have been submitted to Ceredigion County Council.

The application has been made by Mark Baggot of West Wales Homes for the development on the site of Ysgol Dyfryn Teifi.

Included in the 12 proposed houses are two affordable homes and a mix of one bungalow and two storey detached and semi-detached dwellings.

Application documents state that the site is located directly to the south west of the built form of Llandysul and is currently part of an overgrown field formerly part of the former school site.

The former school grounds and buildings and leisure centre flank the site, along with agricultural land and housing at Heol y Gilfach.

“Whilst the area is arguably a mixed use area, given the presence of the former school buildings and leisure centre the wider area is predominately residential in character,” it adds.

The application is in progress and no decision has been taken.
