THE city of Swansea Aquatics celebrated its medal haul at the West Wales Development Meet in Carmarthen Leisure Centre on the 23rd of June. The team competed against other local teams in from the east of Wales.
The competition consisted of boys and girls between the ages of nine and twelve swimming a variety of strokes and distances, with a separate freestyle category allowing any kind of techniques. The fastest three swimmers were awarded honours.
Development coach of Swansea Aquatics Sian Williams said: “I was impressed and pleased with the skills that were on show from all of our swimmers and was particularly happy with the underwater skills that were demonstrated. The relays were a lot of fun and were a great bonding experience for the participants.”
Collectively, swimmers from the club managed to take home twelve gold, thirteen silver, and thirteen bronze medals; the biggest haul of any other club in the region.
