Beaumaris RNLI Lifeboat called out for a second rescue near Bangor

THE Beaumaris lifeboat volunteers launched the Atlantic 85 lifeboat Annette Mary Liddington at 9.55 pm to investigate reports of a young woman believed to be in the water in the vicinity of Bangor pier.

As well as the lifeboat the Bangor Coastguard Rescue Teams and north Wales Police attended the incident.

The lifeboat conducted a search on the water between the pier and Port Penrhyn bay and dock as well as up the coastline to the old rowing club. In the meanwhile the Mobile Coastguard Team and Police conducted a search ashore including the use of a police drone.

At 11.36 pm the Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre at Holyhead acting on information received form the police stood both the lifeboat and the Mobile Coastguard team down.

The Lifeboat the returned to her station at 11.33 pm being refuelled and cleaned under the Covid precaution regulations the lifeboat volunteers eventually leaving to return home at 12.20 pm.
