THE OWNER of a residential property in Bynea claim that they have been the victim of a firebomb attack in the early hours of Friday (Jun 28).

The owner who did not wish to be named said: We were at a neighbour’s property when we were alerted to a fire at our property. We managed to alert other neighbours as the flames were close to some parked vehicles. We have reported the incident to the police. We are extremely grateful to the Fire Service who were absolutely fantastic during what was a very traumatic time for us.

A spokesperson for Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service said:

“On Friday, 28/06/2019 at 12:18am, firefighters from Llanelli attended a fire at a property in Station Road, Bynea, Llanelli.

“The fire was confined to a pathway leading to the property and was extinguished prior to the arrival of the Fire Service.

“The Fire Service left the incident at 01:09am.

“The incident is under Police investigation.”

We contacted Dyfed-Powys Police. A spokesperson said:

“At approximately 12.15am on Friday, June 28, a plastic bottle containing petrol was set alight and thrown in to the front garden of a property at Station Road, Llanelli. Nobody was injured and the fire was quickly put out by the occupant. Officers are appealing for witnesses, anyone with information is asked to report it by calling 101.
