PLANS for a new railway station in Cardiff and an application to demolish a former infants school have been given the go ahead.
These are just some of the planning applications that have been decided by Cardiff Council over the past week.
Here is the latest round-up of the stand out planning applications approved by the authority.
Splott
An application to demolish a former infants school in Splott has been approved.
The former Moorland County Infants School on Moorland Road will be demolished to make way for a redevelopment project.
This will include social housing.
Butetown
Cardiff Council has approved plans for a new railway station in Butetown.
The application made by Transport for Wales, which includes plans to upgrade the station in Cardiff Bay with a second platform, will see a new two-platform station in the north of Butetown.
Work will begin on construction of the new Butetown railway station and the upgrade to Cardiff Bay station from December this year.
Cardiff Bay station will remain open for passengers while the work is taking place.
City centre
Plans to remove and replace cladding on a city centre high rise have been given the green light.
The cladding on Summit House on Windsor Place will be removed and replaced with fire resistant material.
Penylan
Eight new electrical vehicle charging points will be installed along Newport Road.
Permission has been granted for the electrical vehicle charging bays to be installed at the car park to the rear of the Texaco petrol station.
Gabalfa
A building formerly used for offices along a busy Cardiff street looks set to be turned into a home.
Number 214-214A Whitchurch Road in Gabalfa will be converted into four flats after an application was granted by Cardiff Council.
Once the development is completed, the building will consist of two two-bedroom flats and two one-bedroom flats.
