Care hubs will remain open over Easter holidays

CARMARTHENSHIRE’S care hubs will remain open over the Easter holidays to look after children of essential workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Childcare is being provided at hubs across the county Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm for children aged between 4 and 12.

The hubs will be open during the school holidays including Good Friday and Easter Monday to make sure critical frontline services such as the NHS and the police can continue to operate.

It is vitally important that parents follow Government advice and keep their children at home where possible to help contain the spread of coronavirus (Covid-19).

If your work is critical to the COVID-19 response, and your child cannot stay at home, then your childcare will be prioritised.

Executive Board Member for Education and Children’s Services Cllr Glynog Davies said: “It is vital that these care hubs remain open during the Easter break, including the bank holidays, so that our key workers can continue to do their jobs.

“They are under huge pressure at this difficult time, and we need to do all we can to help. Knowing their children are being looked after in a safe environment is a great comfort to parents who are going above and beyond the call of duty during this coronavirus pandemic.

“They have our support, as well as our admiration and deepest gratitude for the important work they are doing.”
