Classic car showroom coming to Pendine

PENDINE has long enjoyed a reputation of living life in the fast-lane, and that will continue with the opening of a brand new car showroom near the beach-front thanks to funding support from Carmarthenshire County Council.
Lanes Cars Workshops Ltd specialises in the restoration and sale of the E-Type Jaguar, from routine maintenance through to complete rebuilds, as well as being a worldwide franchise holder for RBW Electric Classic Cars that include MG B Recreations and Jaguar E-Type’s, which will be on display in their new Pendine showroom later this year.

The business has been supported with a £17,409.15 grant from Carmarthenshire County Council’s Rural Enterprise Fund, and will create at least two new jobs in Pendine.

Works are now underway to modify a unit at the recently opened Parry Thomas Centre, creating a vehicular access to display and sell heritage Jaguar classic cars and new 21st Century electric classic cars.

Carmarthenshire County Council has made £3million available through the Carmarthenshire Rural Enterprise Fund to provide grant aid for the development of new and existing business premises where jobs are created.

More than £2.7million has already been committed, levering in almost £9million of private sector investment and creating over 250 jobs.

Established in 1993, Lanes Cars Workshops Ltd sell both their Jaguar E Type’s worldwide and RBW Electric Classic Cars conversions in over 60 countries worldwide.

They are the main agent for RBW Classic Electric Cars Recreations, using latest EV technology for new iconic classic cars which will be on display in Pendine.

Their new showroom, which will sit alongside the new Museum of Speed that is currently under construction, is due to open in October 2019.

Pendine Sands played a major part in early motoring history, especially for the land speed records that were achieved on its famous seven mile beach in the 1920s both by Malcolm Campbell and Thomas Parry with his car Babs.

It still plays host to land speed attempts, and is regularly used by production companies for the filming of adverts, television and films.
