Conwy RNLI inshore lifeboat was requested to immediately launch at 3:37pm by UK Coastguard, to reports of two persons in the water off Llandudno West Shore in distress.
Following multiple 999 calls and reports from the volunteers at Llandudno West Shore National Coastwatch Institution (NCI). The volunteer crew pagers were sounded at 3:37pm and the RNLI lifeboat, The May-Bob launched immediately with her three volunteer crew.
UK Coastguard rescue helicopter ‘Rescue 936’ was also tasked from Caernarfon to assist with a paramedic on board.
On arrival, the lifeboat found that the two persons were in immediate danger and the volunteer crew immediately recovered them from the fast flowing tidal flow.
The lifeboat transferred the casualties to the safety of the lifeboat station where Llandudno UK Coastguard Rescue Team (CRT) awaited with a off duty paramedic on the team to assist.
UK Coastguard rescue helicopter ‘Rescue 936’ landed in Conwy, where a paramedic conducted an assessment on the patient before getting diverted away to another call out.
The multiple agencies worked together as a team and both casualties remained in a stable condition.
Following the service, the lifeboat arrived back on station and was recovered, refuelled and made ready for service by 5:45pm.
