Council urges residents to attend Remembrance Services safely

To mark this year’s Armistice Day and Remembrance Sunday, we have been flying the flags at full-mast and will be lighting the Council’s buildings in red every night until Sunday as a mark of Remembrance.

On Remembrance Sunday 14 November, some roads will be closed temporarily in Lampeter and Cardigan so the Act of Remembrance can be held safely around each town’s War Memorial. If you are attending any services, remember to keep a social distance and follow the latest COVID-19 guidance.

Councillor Paul Hinge, Chairman of the Council and Armed Forces Champion for Ceredigion County Council said: “Although most restrictions have now eased and we’re fortunate to be able to meet up and pay our respects together; we must still remember the basic COVID-19 safety measures to keep everyone safe. We can still remember the sacrifices made by past generations and pay tribute to those who lost their lives whether that will be at a public service or in the comfort of our own home.”

· Outdoors is safer than indoors

· Keep your distance when you can

· Wash your hands

· Wear a face covering
