Dafydd Llywelyn “standing for re-election” as Police and Crime Commissioner

SPEAKING to Wales News Online, Plaid Cymru Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) Dafydd Llywelyn said that he would be standing for re-election in 2020.

“I’ve had the nomination from Plaid Cymru, so I’ll be standing again as PCC. Hopefully, I’ll be able to stand on the strong four years of delivering the CCTV in the town centers and reconfiguring the neighbourhood policing teams.”

Mr Llywelyn outlined plans for his remaining time as the PCC, mentioning that they are “continually in negotiations” for building a police presence in places such as Station Road, ranging from more officers, responding to the lack of reporting on crime and court cases by newspapers, as well as potentially building a new police station.

“We will always retain a community presence in the town. Where the current Police Station is, that is not moving. It will be retained. It’s important to keep those facilities available to the public.”
