Ahead of Remembrance Day, a digital ‘Remembrance’ wall has been launched by Eluned Morgan MS to commemorate the fallen war heroes of Mid & West Wales.
The digital memorial, MWWRemembers.com, invites members of the public to pay tribute to the brave men and women of the region, who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our liberty.
Anyone can contribute to the memorial by posting stories and images on the Facebook Group ‘Mid and West Wales Remembers’ or by using the #MWWRemembers on twitter, which will populate the digital memorial.
Speaking about the project, Eluned said:
“This initiative will hopefully provide an appropriate way to respect, remember and recognise those who so bravely gave their lives in the service of our country from the First World War through to present-day conflict.
“I am inviting people from across Mid & West Wales to contribute and offer an insight into people’s experiences of war by sharing a paragraph or a photograph in commemoration of a lost relative or friend.
“Through the pandemic, so much of our lives have moved online. As we experience the second Remembrance Day in the current pandemic, it seems fitting that we should harness technology to honour these inspirational people.”
