Eluned Morgan to meet with Health Board over COVID-19 plan

ENSURING our public services are prepared for the Coronavirus outbreak is a top priority for Member of the Senedd (MS), Eluned Morgan, as the Welsh Government minister plans regular briefings with Carmarthenshire County Council and Hywel Dda Health Board in response to the growing health emergency.

Last week, the MS met with Carmarthenshire County Council to understand how they are planning to secure social care and other vital public services as cases of the virus are expected to rise.

Eluned Morgan MS said: “It is important that our public services are prepared as much as possible to respond to the threat of Coronavirus in our communities. I am in regular contact with Councils, the Health Board and other services to ensure that every effort is made to protect life and focus resources.”

“I have been really encouraged by the way in which the community is rallying and coming together at this time. Protecting those at the greatest risk of this virus – the elderly and people with pre-existing health conditions should be a priority for us all. I will be meeting with the Health Board later this week to hear the steps being taken to maintain primary and hospital care for local patients in the weeks and months ahead. I am asking everyone to read up on official advice from Public Health Wales about Coronavirus and how to reduce the spread so that we keep as many of our loved ones as safe as possible.”

Eluned Morgan will be updating her social media channels regularly with local information and advice and her office will remain open to receiving telephone calls on 0300 200 7264 should constituents require help or support on any new or existing constituency matter.
