TUESDAY, 12 May 2021, marks 50 days until the deadline of 30 June 2021 for applications to be made to the EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS).
This milestone is a great opportunity to bring the fast-approaching deadline to the attention of all EU, EEA and Swiss citizens living in the UK.
All EU, EEA and Swiss citizens and their family members, who have been resident in the UK by 31 December 2020, should apply now so that they can continue to work, study, access free healthcare and benefits in the UK after 30 June 2021.
Councillor Ellen ap Gwynn, Leader of Ceredigion County Council, said: “We are very proud of the large number of EU citizens who live and work in Ceredigion. It’s great to see that so many have been successful in their applications so far. We would urge anyone who has not yet applied to do so as soon as possible so they can continue to contribute and enjoy all aspects of life in Ceredigion.”
Anyone who knows someone who has not yet applied should encourage them to do so. They could include friends, relatives, neighbours, co-workers or employees of the EU, European Economic Area, and Switzerland who are unaware of the need to apply and the importance of applying.
The EU Settlement Scheme is not optional, and all affected citizens must apply (the only exception being individuals from the Republic of Ireland).
You can apply for the scheme by visiting the UK Government’s website: www.gov.uk/settled-status-eu-citizens-families
