Explore Tregaron’s Public Rights of Way during Eisteddfod

During the National Eisteddfod which will take place from 30 July until 6 August 2022, Ceredigion’s Coast and Countryside team have arranged short, daily guided walks from Pentre’ Ceredigion so that locals and visitors can experience Tregaron’s beautiful scenery and countryside whilst enjoying the long-awaited Eisteddfod in our county.

The walks will be on Ceredigion’s Public Rights of Way (PROW) routes which provides locals and tourists with one of the main means by which they can access and enjoy the countryside.

Guided walks will begin at 11am each day from the picnic area at Pentre’ Ceredigion. These walks will be a two mile circular walk which goes up to a viewpoint overlooking the town and the Maes. Walkers will return to the Maes within 2 hours. Some may find the uphill section slightly challenging as there are 7 stiles to clamber over however it should be suitable for most walkers.

Members of the public who would like to join must wear sturdy footwear for rough terrain and have drinking water at hand. Walkers who would like to join the walk but are not intending on visiting the Maes are also welcome to join the walk at the main town car park/ Heritage Centre at 11:25am.

In addition to these walks, on Tuesday 02 August, a challenging 8.5 mile guided walk has been arranged. The walk will be lead by one of Ceredigion’s Rights of Way Rangers who is very experienced and will be happy to answer some questions with regards to managing PROW in his particular area.

If you would like to join, ensure you are at the picnic area at Pentre’ Ceredigion by 10:50am so that the walk leaders can go through details before leaving at 11am.

To ensure the safety of everyone, members of the public who are not appropriately dressed for the weather or the walk will not be allowed to join. If you are showing symptoms of COVID-19 or are feeling unwell, please do not attend.

These walks are partially led by volunteers and as such are subject to leader availability and covid dependent.
