Fabulous Food Festival is full of flavour

FOOD glorious food was the order of the day as Ymlaen Llanelli held a food festival in the town on Saturday (Oct 19).

Morgan’s brew teas, Fudge pots, Cusan Liquers, Aur Y Ddraig honey, Vale Cider, Taffy’s Treats, Toloja Orchards, Tinworks Brewery, Good Carma Foods, Delicious Delights and many more stall holders tantalised the tastebuds of the Llanelli residents and visitors alike.

As well as the raw ingredients there were stalls selling cooked food from Thai to Indian, crepes and coffee, hog roast to BBQ chicken. It really was a sight and smell to behold.

Crowds lined the streets, which looked more like a European street market than Llanelli town centre. The event really did attract the foodies of the county. There was some exceptionally high quality locally produced produce on offer.

The prices may have been a little over what one would pay for the run of the mill items in most supermarkets but behind each product there was a story. Usually a one man or woman band start up with beginnings in a small kitchen at home. These stall holders have done the hard miles in bringing their passion to the market.

We will be focusing on some of those stories throughout the week. Our senior reporter Jo Halbert interviewed a number of stall holders.
