Fire Crews tackle property fires at Morriston and Bont

ON Tuesday, 09/04/2019 at 07:55pm, crews from Morriston and Swansea Central attended a property fire in Parc Avenue, Morriston, Swansea.

On arrival, firefighters made a forced entry into the two-storey terraced property and rescued a female casualty. The casualty was treated for smoke inhalation and conveyed to hospital.

The Fire Service extinguished the fire, which was confined to the ground floor kitchen, using a hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera. The property was then ventilated using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The Fire Service left the incident at 08:39pm

On Wednesday, 10/04/2019 at 07:50pm, crews from Pontarddulais, Llanelli and Gorseinon attended a property fire in Maes yr Ysgol, Pontarddulais.

The fire was confined to the kitchen area of a ground floor flat and was caused by cooking left unattended.

Firefighters rescued a male casualty along with a snake and a cat from the property before extinguishing the fire using four breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera. Firefighters also ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

The Fire Service left the incident at 09:01pm.

Despite budgetary constraints, we have continued to maintain a level of service, which has ensured our communities remain safe places to live, work and visit.”
