Fire service thanks public for help identifying those responsible for illegal fires

THE Fire & Rescue Services, Police and partner agencies across Wales, would like to thank members of the public who have contacted us to identify and report those responsible for setting illegal fires in their communities.

The information provided has been vital in enabling us to seek convictions and identify perpetrators that have caused serious damage to land, untold damage to wildlife and created an unnecessary drain on our emergency services.

Deliberate grass fires reduce air quality and will cause breathing problems and worsen conditions like asthma. During the Covid19 pandemic it is imperative that the Government advice on isolation and social distancing is adhered to.

Let’s continue to work together in our communities to fight the cause of deliberate fires!

Please call the Police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 if you see anyone setting deliberate fires.
