FOUR men are in custody following a drugs bust in Welshpool thought to be the biggest of its kind by Dyfed-Powys Police due to the scale of the operation.
Around 75 police officers were at Leighton Arches Caravan Park at 7am this morning to execute the warrant, with many teams expected to remain at the site in to the early evening.
Powys Commander, Superintendent Ifan Charles, said: “The action we’re taking today is part of our ongoing commitment to tackle illegal drug dealing in Welshpool and beyond, and is the result of months of hard work.
“We take the concerns of our communities seriously, and I hope the residents of Welshpool are reassured by this activity.
“Teams of specialists remain at the site of the warrant, working meticulously to ensure any evidence of wrongdoing is secured.
“I urge anyone with information or any concerns about illegal drug dealing to raise them so we can take action.”
Two men, aged 31 and 23, and a 17-year-old boy, have been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of heroin and cocaine. A third man has been arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of other class A drugs. They remain in police custody at this time.
