Fundraising Christmas Fayre for Many Tears Animal Rescue

LOCALLY based Many Tears Animal Rescue (MTAR) held their annual Christmas Fayre on Saturday, (Nov 23), in Tumble Hall, Tumble, Llanelli.

The event, which was held to raise much-needed support for the rescue centre, was very well attended. Many people from the local area showed their support for the worthy charity whilst some loyal Many Tears supporters traveled from Surrey, Essex, Bristol and other parts of the UK.

There was entertainment on the stage with a great live band and the hall was full of tables presenting different products that volunteers had either made themselves or donated. There was much on offer from delicious cakes and biscuits to handmade and homemade dog treats, handmade gifts for dog lovers to dog toys and perfectly hand knitted dog jumpers.

Steph and Dale Bacon who had made beautifully presented homemade dog treats for the event said: “We have been making these treats for three years now as they are very popular”.

The funds raised from the Fayre and the other Christmas events will go towards the care costs of over 3,000 dogs per year which MTAR homes.

MTAR “take in and rehome primarily ex-breeding dogs who are no longer required, those on “death row” in the pounds and those whose owners are no longer able to keep them.

“We are a unique rescue in that the majority of our dogs are ex-breeders and many have never seen the outside world before. ”

A spokesperson for MTAR said: “The event was really well supported and we were delighted with the amount raised.

“We would like to thank everyone who took part either by having a stall, donating something, coming to the fayre or taking part in some of the fundraising activities.”
