LLANELLI’S MP Nia Griffith has raised concerns regarding the unplanned closure of the post office at Kidwelly.
Commenting on the unplanned closure of the post office in Station Road, Kidwelly, Nia Griffith MP said:
“I was shocked to hear that Kidwelly post office has been closed down this week for an indefinite period.”
“Kidwelly is a town and needs its own full-time post office, and moreover it is some considerable distance from neighbouring post offices. I am therefore calling on Post Office Ltd to take immediate steps to provide a mobile post office service as a matter of utmost urgency, and to make a priority of finding a more permanent full-time solution as soon as possible.”
“It’s a busy post office and there are businesses and residents in Kidwelly who really need a post office here. I am sure that if the Post Office can identify appropriately qualified individuals to run the service, then we will be able to find a suitable location. There is huge community spirit in Kidwelly and I know people will want to help.”
