Golden Tickets to help celebrate City’s Birthday

GOLDEN Tickets to some of the most sought-after events in Swansea this year are up for grabs.

Fifty pairs of golden tickets to events like the Stereophonics, Jess Glynne and Proms in the Park are waiting for residents of Swansea who want to be part of the city’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

First up in the big draw are a pair of VIP tickets to Alun Wyn Jones’ Freedom of the City celebrations in next week.

But also up for grabs will be tickets to next month’s gigs at Singleton Park featuring the Stereophonics and Jess Glynne. Not only that, lucky Golden Tickets will be up for grabs for a number of Swans and Ospreys home games next season.

Robert Francis-Davies Cabinet Member for investment, regeneration and tourism, said: “The winners of the Golden Tickets will have an amazing experience, the chance to be part of a number of special moments taking place in our city’s anniversary year.

“Stereophonics tickets are next to impossible to come by this close to the concert and will be a must for any fan this summer. Residents will also have the chance to be part of the Jess Glynne concert and Pete Tong gigs next month too.

“Later on this year we’ll also be offering Golden Tickets to outdoor theatre events at Oystermouth Castle and sought-after shows at the Grand
Theatre, including an audience with Harry Rednapp.

He added: “We’ll be adding more amazing and exclusive prizes as we go because the Golden Tickets are just one of the ways people living in
Swansea have to be part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of our city.”

The historic announcement that Swansea was to become a city was made by Prince Charles, following his investiture as Prince of Wales, in July, 1969. The official ceremony took place five months later.

The lucky winners of the AWJ Freedom Ceremony Golden Tickets will get two of the best seats in the Council Chamber to see one of Wales’
greatest rugby players receive the freedom of the city on June 12 at 2pm.

To get a Golden Ticket all you have to do is go to the Swansea 50 celebrations website at www.swansea50.co.uk [1] and log your contact
details.

To enter you must be aged over 18 and have a permanent residence within the boundaries of the City and County of Swansea. Other terms and
