Golden tickets up for grabs

MORE golden tickets are up for grabs for residents of Swansea who want to be part of the city’s 50th anniversary celebrations.

This follows the success of the very first Golden Ticket draw to see Alun Wyn Jones receive his honorary Freedom of the City.

The next pair of tickets are for the Gala performance of Mal Pope’s brand new musical Calon Lân at the Grand Theatre, Swansea, on June 29.

Directed by Olivier Awards nominee Maxine Evans, with words and music by Swansea’s Mal Pope, it tells the epic true story of Evan Roberts, a young Swansea miner who led a worldwide Christian revival in the early years of thelast century.

It stars Swansea-born West End performer Claire Hammacott and city broadcaster and entertainer Kev Johns. The role of Evan Roberts will be played by James Ifan.

Robert Francis-Davies, Swansea Council’s Cabinet Member for investment, regeneration and tourism, said: “The winners of the Golden Tickets will have an amazing experience.

“This is your chance to be one of the very first to see the show, at the star studded gala performance at the Grand Theatre.

“We had a fantastic response to our very first Golden Ticket draw for the Alun Wyn Jones Freedom ceremony”

“We’ll be adding more amazing and exclusive prizes as we go because the Golden Tickets are just one of the ways people living in Swansea have to be part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of our city.”

The team behind Swansea’s 50th anniversary celebrations are giving away 50 pairs of golden tickets to events taking place between June and December.

Tickets will be available for 50 different events from concerts to football and rugby matches plus some special ‘money can’t buy’ occasions.
