WELSHMAN Evan Hoyt who trained at the Llanelli Tennis and Squash Club has made it through to the next round in the mixed doubles at Wimbledon with partner Eden Silva.
Hoyt becomes the first Welsh player to win a match at Wimbledon since Sarah Loosemore’s win in 1990.
Almost three decades later Hoyt is showing great promise having been give a wildcard to the doubles.
Hoyt and Silva will now face a second-round encounter with 16th seeds Divij Sharan and Yingying Duan.
