THE Welsh Ambulance Service has won a prestigious industry award.
The Trust’s Associate Director of Paramedicine, Andy Swinburn, was named the winner of the AHP Clinical Leadership Award in Friday’s virtual Advancing Healthcare Awards.
The award is in recognition of his work in developing roles within the Trust’s clinical response model.
On the award, Andy said: “We were honoured to be nominated, but to win was just fantastic.
“It is richly deserved recognition for the team of skilled and dedicated professionals we have at the Welsh Ambulance Service – all of whom pull together for our shared vision of clinical excellence.
“There was some very strong competition and we congratulate all our contemporaries around the UK.”
Every year the Advancing Healthcare Awards programme recognises high achievers in the industry, and 2020 has been the Year of Green Action.
The Welsh Ambulance Service was also “Highly Commended” in two other categories:
The Senior Clinical Team in the Welsh Government award for Prudent Healthcare for its work to expand alternative treatment pathways within the Clinical Model, and
The Year of Green Action Award for the work of the Clinical Directorate to embed environmental sustainability into its working culture
