AS winter approaches and the COVID-19 pandemic shows little sign of retreating, the Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats is encouraging the the Welsh Government to work with the care sector to find a way to allow limited visits to care and residential homes from relatives.
Leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats Jane Dodds said:
“There are many people especially those in long term care who have gone months without seeing their families including some who will not have seen their wives or husbands apart from of a screen.
“I hope the Welsh Government is able to work with relatives, care home providers and staff to find a way to make these visits possible.
“For the sake of people’s mental health and wellbeing, as winter approaches and the nights draw in I urge the government to explore every avenue to allow such visits to take place safely.”
