Jane Dodds MS calls for mobile access to dentists

Jane Dodds  has called on the Welsh Government to introduce mobile dentist service for communities in Powys, after raising residents’ concerns over extreme waiting lists.

Commenting Jane stated: “Whilst dentistry remains one of the most difficult areas of primary care delivery to provide during a respiratory virus pandemic, there have been issues relating to the provision of NHS dentistry for decades.

“One resident in Llandrindod was advised to book an emergency appointment after a call with 111 but was unable to book the appointment within her local area.

“With such a long-running and complex issue such as the provision of dental care in rural areas, surely it’s worth exploring more innovative solutions whilst long term reform is underway.”

Jane added: “I shall continue to fight for local service access – we need real action so that the residents of Mid and West Wales get the proper dental services we need.”
