PLAID Cymru parliamentary candidate for Carmarthen East and Dinefwr, Jonathan Edwards, has called on the Council to formally recognise the achievement of Carmarthenshire’s Aled Walters.
Aled Walters became the South African Head of Strength and Conditioning in March 2018 and on Sunday was a part of the coaching team that triumphed against England in the final of the Rugby World Cup.
Jonathan Edwards said:
”Aled’s tremendous work formally with roles at the Scarlets, Munster and now with the Springboks goes to show that Carmarthenshire can produce World Cup winners.
“The county has a proud rugby tradition and I have written to the Leader of Carmarthenshire Council to ask if they would consider recognising Aled’s success at their next full meeting.”
