ONE of Wales’ most innovative digital workspace businesses is set to breathe renewed life into an iconic Swansea building.

Tramshed Tech has signed heads of terms for a development agreement with Swansea Council for the 133-year-old Palace Theatre building.

Planned to open next year, the influence of Tramshed Tech will see the creation of a modern workspace for young and growing businesses, especially those in the tech, digital and creative sectors.

Tramshed Tech co-founder and CEO Louise Harris commented:

“It is so exciting to be working with the city council in Swansea to re-develop this historic landmark building and to be able to provide class-leading digital services for the city.”

Council leaderRob Stewart said:

“I’m delighted that we’re working with Tramshed Tech as the Palace’s lead tenant.

“It’s another big step in Swansea’s £1bn regeneration story that’s bringing investment, jobs and opportunities.”

Cabinet member Robert Francis-Davies added:

“Our partnership is exciting because it’ll be another opportunity to grow Swansea’s tech industry.”

Funding for the Palace redevelopment is being sought from the European Regional Development Fund and the Welsh Government, via the Welsh Government’s Transforming Towns programme for the project.
