League of Friends celebrates 50th anniversary

THE Llanelli and District League of Friends is celebrating its 50th anniversary.

The organisation has achieved a lot in the five decades in existence.

The support  and service they have provided to local hospitals has been invaluable.

To celebrate there will be a dinner held at Machynys Golf Club on Saturday (Oct 16) at 6.30 for 7.

A two course dinner will cost £20 with a three course dinner costing £25.

Ken Rees of the Llanelli and District League of Friends said: “We are also holding a service at the St. Elli Church on Sunday October 17, which begins at 11am and everyone is welcome. The service will be conducted by Revd Canon Huw Mosford.”

There will also be an annual Meeting for the League of Friends from across South Wales on   Saturday (Oct 16) at the Ivy Bush Hotel in Carmarthen. It starts at 2pm and the guest speaker is David Woods OBE.
