A variation to a Milford Haven wedding venue’s licence was refused by the applicant’s attitude was praised.

Members of Pembrokeshire County Council’s licensing committee heard from the Imperial Hall’s Lee Bridges and his intention to “restore it to its former glory as a wedding venue.”

Mr Bridges said he was more than willing to work with neighbours and avoid disruption – with the committee hearing of noise complaints from people nearby – and if that meant applying for temporary event notices (TENs) for special events he would be happy to do so.

He added that he had been advised that applying for a licence variation – which would allow for outdoor music on the newly refurbished terrace and an outdoor bar – was the best course of action but TENs would be acceptable.

Food and drink from inside the venue is permitted on the terrace under the current licence and that permission remains.

Milford Haven Town Council also objected to the variation application.

Committee chairman Cllr Tim Evans said: “From what you have said today you are very keen to work with residents,” adding members were “very impressed with the attitude of the applicant.”

The licence variation application was refused on public nuisance grounds.
