Llandudno Lifeboat launches to dangerous cliff incident

HM Coastguard Holyhead tasked Llandudno Lifeboat at 2pm on Tuesday 25th October, requesting an immediate launch of the inshore lifeboat to assist the Rhyl Coastguard Team who were attending to two young people in danger on the cliffs above Angel Bay, Little Orme’s Head.

The RNLI D Class relief lifeboat, with her volunteer crew proceeded to Angel Bay, they arrived on scene five minutes after launch and soon located the two young casualties who were approximately forty feet above the shoreline.

The Lifeboat Helm monitored the casualties as they moved down the cliffs eventually making their way to the safety of Penrhyn Bay beach, where they were given serious safety advice by the lifeboat crew.

The lifeboat was then stood down by HM Coastguard and returned to station to prepare for future launches.
