Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway announce further Open Days

The Llanelli and Mynydd Mawr Railway are pleased to announce further Open days this autumn building on the success of its first post pandemic events in June and July. The new dates are Saturday 25th September and Saturday 30th October. In a change of format from the recent ‘Pacer’ events these two dates are scheduled to feature the lines popular Sentinel diesel locomotive and brake van. Brake Van rides will be available at frequent intervals from 10.00am onwards. Pre-booking is recommended for these popular trips via www.ticketsource.co.uk/llanellirailway.

Please check the website at www.llanellirailway.co.uk or social media regularly for details of all future events at the railway.
Sentinel 0-4-0DH No. 10222 will be in service providing brake van rides along the current operational section of running line. The railway’s other rolling stock, including Class 122 DMU 55019, and the fleet of class 142 and 143 Pacers will also be available to view and there will be access to the main stock sheds and heritage centre. Additionally our good friends from the Gloucester Railway Carriage and Wagon Museum will have a display and sales stand. Light refreshments and a range of souvenirs will also be available to purchase. All advertised attractions are subject to availability on the day.

The railway is a charity run totally by volunteers. It is hoping to grow into a major tourist attraction for the Llanelli district and in order to reach our goals we need more volunteer help in all departments including operational, maintenance and restoration, and administration. If you could spare a few hours for what is a most enjoyable pastime and worthwhile cause do not hesitate to get in touch. For more information or to volunteer please visit our website at https://www.llanellirailway.co.uk or Facebook page at www.facebook.com/llanellirailway
