Llanelli eco-friendly clothing business off to flying start

A NEW eco-friendly clothing business founded in Llanelli has had the seal of approval from Lee Waters MS and Member of Parliament Nia Griffith.

New fashion brand ‘Onesta’, creates beautiful, timeless menswear and womenswear. Using sustainable and innovative fabrics such as seaweed, each garment is ethically made in Wales. 2% of every sale is donated to charities including Friends of the Earth Cymru.

Gabriella Diana, who founded the business, is working with fashion graduates from the Carmarthen School of Art and Welsh Businesses to create a fashion hub right here in West Wales. Having started the company in response to the detrimental effects fast-fashion is having on the world, and our bodies, CEO and founder, Gabriella Diana states “Onesta is on a mission to change the fashion industry for the better. Our core belief is in the name itself – Onesta, meaning honest. Knowing where your clothes came from, what they’re made of and who made them is so important. Everything we do as a Company, is about ‘sustainability’ and protecting animal and human rights. Onesta is a place of style and substance, never sacrificing one for the other.”

Visiting Onesta on Small Business Saturday, Mr Waters said “This is a fascinating business idea that’s getting off the ground here in Llanelli. The small team of people at Onesta clearly love their fashion, but don’t believe it should come at the expense of the planet. We want more skilled young people to feel like they can build a career here, without having to move to the big cities. Onesta is a real beacon for the fashion industry in our corner of Wales.”

Nia Griffith said “Onesta is leading the way right here in Llanelli with sustainable fashion and clothing that doesn’t take its toll on the environment. They are exactly the sort of home grown, innovative business that will prosper in the future and I would encourage people to take the time to look at their website (http://www.onesta.uk/) online to find out more.”

Having recently launched their brand online, Onesta’s first collection of loungewear made from all natural, luxury fabrics are available to order just in time for Christmas.
