‘Major safety concerns’ could see one-way system introduced in Wrexham village

A NEW one-way system could be introduced in a village in Wrexham to address “major safety concerns” raised by community leaders.
Feedback is currently being invited on plans to allow one-way traffic only on The Green in Rossett, as well as an adjoining section of the B5102 Holt Road leading up to Chester Road.
The move is being considered after members of Rossett Community Council asked for the junction outside the village’s Co-op store to be examined due to traffic issues.
Residents are now being encouraged to have their say on the proposals which have been put forward by Wrexham Council (WCBC).
In a statement on its Facebook page, the community council said: “Rossett Community Council have been for some time requesting a review of the junction outside the Co-op between Chester Road and Holt Road.
“A one-way scheme has now been proposed by WCBC and a copy is shown below.
“Whilst there is some detail which we feel needs clarification, there are a limited number of options available which would address issues and conform to highways regulations.
“This is the second time a proposal has been made so could potentially be the last opportunity for a scheme to address what we perceive as major safety concerns at this junction.
“It’s really important that local residents get involved and consider the proposal and submit comments, either for or against, or even if you agree with parts but feel consideration needs to be given to some elements. Please use this opportunity to have your say.”
Any feedback should be sent in writing to traffic@wrexham.gov.uk or Environment Department, Abbey Road South, Wrexham Industrial Estate, Wrexham, LL13 9PW.
The closing date for comments to be submitted is Friday (August 6, 2021).
