Manor House attraction at Scolton Manor re-opens August 17

PEMBROKESHIRE’S popular Manor House attraction at Scolton Manor will re-open on Monday (August 17) with a series of measures in place to keep visitors and staff safe.

The Scolton Manor site has successfully achieved the ‘We’re Good To Go’ tourist industry standard.

This is the official UK mark to signal that a tourism and hospitality business has worked hard to follow Government and industry Covid-19 guidelines and has a process in place to maintain cleanliness and aid social distancing.

A booking only ticketing system will be in operation to limit the number of visitors allowed in the House – which gives guests a taste of Victorian society and style – at any one time.

The booking system, operated from the Welcome Centre/Shop, will also meet contact tracing requirements.

The Welcome Centre/Shop is also open, along with the Beekeeping Centre.

At all sites, there will be hand-sanitising stations and signage to reinforce the social distancing message and staff have been provided with PPE and protective screens are in place where required.

The Welcome Centre/Shop and Beekeeping Centre will also operate ‘one in – one out’ policies and one-way systems.

Visitors are kindly asked to follow the requirements at each site for everyone’s safety.

The Walled Garden, park and outdoor play areas are also now open.

The Scolton Tea-room has re-opened for indoor sit-down service (which must be pre-booked on 01437 731667) and outdoor takeaway service.

Cllr Paul Miller, the Pembrokeshire County Council Cabinet Member for Economy, Tourism, Leisure and Culture, said:

“I’m delighted to announce the re-opening of the Manor House at Scolton Manor.

“Scolton Manor is a much-loved attraction in the county and with lockdown restrictions easing it is only right that our local attractions are open for residents and visitors to enjoy once again.

“I’d like to thank our teams for their hard work in ensuring the facilities are Good To Go and visit and would ask anyone visiting to please follow the systems in place to ensure you have an enjoyable and safe day out.”
