A 31-year-old man from Sefton has had to pay a total of £811 in fines and costs for riding forestry tracks on a motorcycle during the emergency period.
The court heard that On 14/06/2020 Owen Dempsey of 18 Pendle Drive, Litherland, Sefton at Strata Florida near Pontrhydfendigaid, without reasonable
excuse, during the emergency period, left or remained away from the place where he was living.
The court heard that Dempsey was part of a group of males who had been riding around the forestry tracks on scrambler motorbikes and quad bikes. Contrary to regulations 8(1) and 12(1)(b) & (4) of the Health Protection (Coronavirus Restrictions) (Wales) Regulations 2020.
The Verdict was recorded as: Proved Single Justice Procedure.
Dempsey was fined £660 and ordered to pay a surcharge to fund victim services of £66.00 and to pay costs of £85.00.
