NEIL Hamilton, MS for Mid & West Wales, and Leader of UKIP Wales is urging his constituents to become ‘Litter Champions’.

Mr Hamilton, a member of the Climate Change, Environment and Rural Affairs committee, is backing Keep Wales Tidy, who are giving away hundreds of clean-up kits to volunteers all over the country.

Mr Hamilton said:
“As a keen environmentalist I welcome any initiatives which encourage us all to keep our neighbourhoods clean and tidy so do hope many will come forward to become Litter Champions.

“You need to apply before February 19 for a clean-up kit from Keep Wales Tidy, so you can help keep communities clean, tidy and free from rubbish.

“This is an excellent way to involve everyone, bring communities together and make local areas pleasant places to live, work and play. The initiative will also help to generate community pride for everyone.

“It is vital we keep towns and parks clean and tidy, especially during these challenging times, not just for people who live in the area but also to encourage visitors in the future.

“The coronavirus pandemic has made it extremely difficult for volunteers to join large litter picking groups but these ‘household’ kits mean that this is an initiative which the whole family can be involved in.”

Keep Wales Tidy have hundreds of clean-up kits available and are now recruiting new Litter Champions #LitterChamps.
They are calling on people to join their army of champions and help make a difference to their community. The kit, support and insurance volunteers need to safely clean up the environment on their doorstep will all be provided.

For the first time ever, household clean-up kits available through the Litter Champions scheme. That means four litter pickers, four sets of gloves, four hi-vis vests and a whole host of other essentials. All you need to do is select ‘household kit’ when applying.
