The man taking over the schools and education portfolio for Pembrokeshire’s executive was welcomed to his first meeting on Monday (May 13).
Cllr Guy Woodham attended his first cabinet meeting as member for education, replacing Cllr David Lloyd.
The replacement was announced on Friday, May 10, following the unopposed selection of Cllr David Simpson as leader of Pembrokeshire County Council.
The swap was the only change made to Cllr Simpson’s cabinet of two years and he thanked Cllr Lloyd for his hard work during that time.
“I would like to thank David Lloyd for his efforts for the first two years of our administration. He worked very hard and I’d like to thank him for his vision and scope in the education department.
“But times change and I welcome Guy Woodham.”
Later in the meeting, presenting his first report to cabinet on a project supporting young people not in work or education, Cllr Woodham said he “looked forward to working with you and my cabinet member colleagues as we move forward.”
