A Newport man has received a prison sentence of four years after he was convicted of supplying crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.A Newport man has received a prison sentence of four years after he was convicted of supplying crack cocaine, heroin and cannabis.
Akram Kafi, 28, pleaded guilty to being in possession with intent to supply a controlled drug – class A and B.
He appeared at Newport Crown Court on Thursday 11 November in relations to offences that took place in October 2021.
PC Sean Higgins, the officer in the case, said; “Akram Kafi was using his barber shop as a front for his drug dealing enterprise. This barber shop was in the heart of the community and was the epicentre for many of the troubles that come to the area.”
“Illegal drugs have no place in our society, we will continue to target anyone involved in drug supply and enforce robustly. We encourage people to continue to report any such concerns so we can take action”
Kafi was sentenced to four years in prison.
