Nominations open for online gallery of community champions

DO you know someone who has done extraordinary things during Covid-19 to keep their community going? Has a local group or business gone the extra mile to help the most vulnerable during lockdown? Or has someone you know been doing heroic things as a key worker?

Now is your opportunity to nominate people in the Llanelli constituency to be part of an online portrait gallery showcasing community champions from across Wales.

The gallery is being developed by the Welsh Parliament – the Senedd – and the public can nominate their champions by contacting their local Member of the Senedd, Lee Waters.

To nominate a champion or a group, simply prepare a 50 word blurb introducing them (including names and contact details) and what they have achieved during the pandemic and submit to your local MS by 2pm on 11th November.

Lee Waters said “Many people in the Llanelli area have stood up and stood out during this pandemic. We’ve seen some of the very best of human character – kindness, cooperation and resilience. Every individual contribution has made a difference this year, and I’m looking forward to receiving people’s nominations for their community champions.”

To nominate an individual, group, business, or to find out more information– please send a 50 word blurb and contact details of your nominee to lee.waters@senedd.wales.
