AS some of Pembrokeshire’s libraries prepare to welcome readers back through the doors, others will see order and collect service put in place.
A delegated decision has been taken by the director of communities, Dr Steven Jones, to “broaden the delivery of the successful order and collect service to smaller libraries.”
Since July it has been possible to order and pick up selections of books from libraries at Haverfordwest, Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock, Tenby and Fishguard.
It will now also be possible to do the same at Narberth, Newport, Pembroke and Saundersfoot libraries, with a one month trial of the service in St Davids, subject to the continuation of financial contributions from the City Council, the decision report states.
It adds that currently the reopening of Crymych and Neyland libraries are not included in this proposal, with Neyland to be subject of a separate paper.
The decision has been taken to “promote a return to new normality and restore the disrupted services at the earliest opportunity.”
The county’s larger libraries will allow people from September 28, with 30-minute visits allowed.
