MORE than 250 pupils from a secondary school in Bridgend county have been told to self-isolate following a positive coronavirus test.
Pupils aged 11 to 15 from Coleg Cymunedol Y Dderwen in Tondu have been told to remain home.
Authorities have urged 93 Year 10 students to self-isolate until Monday July 12 “as a precautionary measure”, according to a spokesperson from Bridgend County Borough Council.
They added: “The school has implemented online lessons to ensure the children do not miss out, and is keeping parents, carers and guardians fully informed.”
All 222 Year 10 pupils were urged to self-isolate on Monday July 06.
The following number of pupils are currently self-isolating:
Year 7 – 66
Year 8 – 63
Year 9 – 32
Year 10 – 93
